
| Scholarship applications for the Year 2007 fall school term are now being accepted. For those students who qualify, a national scholarship award is $1000. In addition, the awards for the best essay and best scholastic performance are $500 each. Also, Academic Performance Scholarships of $350 will be awarded to previous national scholarship awardees who are maintaining a cumulative scholastic average of 3.4 on a 4 point system, or 2.4 on a 3 point system in their continuing educational pursuit. Any GCU member who meets the requirements set forth by the Board of Directors may apply for a scholarship. Each applicant must have been a member of the GCU for at least 5 years with either a permanent life policy or an annuity product with a minimum average balance of $2,000. (A term certificate will not be considered.) |
| The requirements for consideration of a regular scholarship are as follows: 1. Completed at least one semester of college work or equivalent post secondary educational program. 2. Earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or B- equivalency. 3. Seeking a Bachelor's or other degree. 4. All applicants for scholarship assistance must be full-time students unless there is needed not more than thirty (30) credit hours for the conferring of a college, university, or other degree. Participation in a one or two year program may also qualify for scholarship consideration. The applicant should indicate their program is of shorter duration for proper consideration. 5. An original transcript of the applicant's college or school scholastic record indicating a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or its grade equivalency of a B- at the conclusion of the Fall 2007 term. 6. Letter of recommendation from the Pastor of applicant's church. 7. An essay of not less than five hundred words on, "What activities do you suggest that the GCU, as a Fraternal Benefit Society, provide for your age group?" 8. Recent wallet (2 x 3) head
