Lodge 10 - Aliquippa, PA

Lodge 10 hosted their third Flag Day celebration on Monday, June 14, at St. George Byzantine Catholic Church. The short program, which included poetry and song, featured many young and old participants.
Our veterans provided all in attendance a short history of the development of the American flag, and demonstrated the proper flag etiquette for unfolding and raising the flag. The children and choir led everyone in singing some of America's best known patriotic songs. Following the ceremony, lodge members Joe and Mary Elizabeth Olack served refreshments to the more than 50 in attendance. Father Kevin Marks thanked Lodge 10 members for supporting this annual event.
A little later in the day, but across the Ohio River in Ambridge, PA, Lodge 10 members Jack and Veronica Mendenhall, Dan and Dorothy Peterson, Joe and Mary Elizabeth Olack, Martha Seech, and Kathy and Pam Kapaldo served dinner to more than 75 homeless at the Soup Ladle. The menu included chicken, rigatoni, potato salad, green beans and a Flag Day cake. Special thanks to Candy's Catering who gave us a great discount on the food.
