On
March 8, 2008 GCU bowlers from District 4 found out that the groundhog
knew what he was talking about when it comes to the weather. But, despite
the stormy weather 40 junior bowlers and approximately 60 fans came out
to the Richland Lanes in Johnstown, PA for a fun filled day of bowling
and fellowship. Since this has become one of the districts main gatherings
the officers are trying to make this event a party for all district members,
to get out and shake off that cabin fever. There were plenty of refreshments
for all to enjoy as they cheered for these young bowlers as they showed
off their skills.
Shawn Lehman was the top bowler in the boys 16-18
group and will represent our district in the National Bowling Rolloff. The other
winners are as follows: Ages 2-3; Jack Soyka & Marlow Soyka, Ages 4-5; Bobby
Soyka & Rachel
Sombronski, Ages 6-7; John Soyka, & Saige Nelson, Ages 8-9; LesPaul
Buchko & Shelby Craig, Ages 10-12; Adam Faust & Morgan Fenchak,
Ages 13-15; Jeremy Papuga & Jazmin Nelson.
A special congratulation
goes out to Jeremy Papuga who topped all bowlers with a 573 series and
high game of 207. He said he saved his best series ever for this tournament.
I would also like to thank everyone for braving the weather and coming out to
this event, and we hope to see everyone back again next year.
