     While we are all awaiting the beautiful Spring/Summer weather, we are looking forward, perhaps, to planting our gardens and then relaxing in the sunshine.
     Our teenagers are busy baking and selling homemade candy, 3-bar crosses, homemade nut rolls, etc. to raise funds for attending the National Byzanteen Youth Rally in Chicago, IL at the end of July.
     Congratulations to Mary Risko Hrinko on the occasion of her 90 th birthday; Congratulations to Gabriel and Helen Zihal who observed their 65 th weeding anniversary (Mr. Zihal is choir director emeritus at our parish). Congratulations to our pastor, Father Edward G. Cimbala on the 20 th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.
     Happy belated Mother’s Day and Happy Father’s Day. May God bless all the mothers and fathers and grant them many happy and healthy years. For our deceased mothers and fathers, our prayerful wishes for the repose of their souls.
     Our lodge held their quarterly meeting on May 20. Plans were discussed for attending the convention in Baltimore, Flag Day, Father’s Day, and the upcoming lodge and district events and our charitable donations.
     We recently observed Memorial Day and we say thank you to all veterans who served or are serving in our Armed Forces. A special prayer for all those who lost their lives so that we may enjoy the freedoms which we are so thankful for.
    With Sympathy. We are saddened by the death of John Tocheny from Dunellen, NJ and John P. Shutack from Manville, NJ. Mr. Shutack was an active member of our lodge and District 7. We extend our condolences to their families in their loss.
     Our next meeting will be held on August 19 at 6 pm at our parish center.
